So I'm getting ready for the "Sock Hop".... I thought I would post this picture because I knew no one would believe I didn't have a wig on. I have a LOT of hair! I had a lot more (longer) than this when I was in High School and used to do this all the time....Were we nuts????
So here we are...the Queens of the Hop!
We had a great pot roast dinner served on these really cool place mats. They were all different with pictures and short bios of the singers of our time.
The husband/wife duo put on a great show doing imitations....here is Connie Francis.
Dianna Ross getting a little help from a couple of Supremes from the audience....
Here Marilyn Munroe calls our HOA president Jim Burgess up so she could sing "Happy Birthday" to him. He told her birthday wasn't for about another 6 months....she told him that was close enough. What a hoot!
Just in case you think "old" people don't have fun...check out this birthday girl!!
Here's Salt and myself arriving in style....LOL
Oh look....Terry and Sue have the same vehicle.
And sometimes being a little silly pays off. I won one of the "best costume" awards!
Sue and Terry never toured the attractions at Silver Springs, so we went early on Saturday and did two glass bottom boat tours and a Safari ride around the park.
Here we are leaving the dock and getting our first glimpse at some of the fish and turtles.
Our captain....they all have that old time southern d r a w l...
This guy has quite the hair style!
This is the original trucks and machinery used during a archaeological expedition along the river. It was in the early 70's.
A replica of one of the early villages....
The weather was beautiful so wildlife was plentiful....
This guy looked hungry....which is unusual for this time of year.
We are so loving the concert series at Silver Springs. They have had some amazing talent this year and there is much more to follow. Thompson Square was there this weekend and put on a wonderful show. They performed for the first time in public, their newest release "Glass" which will be featured on CMT on Valentine's Day.
We attended a concert at the clubhouse tonight and it had to be, so far, the best of the season. The group was the Atlantic City Boys. They were amazing, and we all are hoping the club will have them back next year. We went with Sue and Terry, Carol and Jim Hart also came over from OMS.
