Things are looking good in the "Trailerhood".....

Salt is still working on the island...until September 13. I have moved into the motor home at the Merry Knoll campground. I am getting the motor home ready for travel while Salt closes the house.

Emma came and stayed a few days... The hairdo is a result of playing Truth or Dare with Grandma....

Of course she loved the pool....

And a visit from Lindsey and Kelly Boyer.....

These million dollar Prevosts sure put a different slant on "Trailer Park".....

Out for Sushi....can't wait to get to a city where they have the really good stuff....It sure isn't Watertown!

I stole this picture from Janna Jedrzejewski's (Hamel) Facebook page. These are her 3 boys...they are all so darn cute!!!

I probably won't be blogging much in the next week. I am trying to get all my doctor's, eye, hair and pedi appointments done before we leave on the 13th. I always forget how much there is to be done before taking off for 8 months.
Tomorrow off to Watertown with Betty and Emma....I always take Emma out for a stock-up on snacks for her school breaks. Betty has a long term teaching job so they both start school on Tuesday. It will be the last quality day I have to spend with them until they visit us in FL.

I'm a little more country than that.......

So....Sunday we had tickets to the big music fest at the Can Am speedway. Featured artists, Gretchen Wilson, Easton Corbin, Jamie Johnson and Chris Cagle.

The weather forecast was for 100% chance of rain....oh yeah, for once the weatherman was RIGHT ON!! Not being too smart, Salt and I headed across the river and decided we would maybe catch a couple of acts between the raindrops. There was NO between the raindrops. It poured the whole day. The racetrack was pure mud, bleachers wet, etc. etc. etc.

We sat with our raincoat and umbrellas for Easton Corbin, and then got our wet bodies back home. Kind of sad....but we did enjoy Easton!!!

Don't give me no broccoli or any Swiss fondue. Baby, if you want to rock me....Give me good ole barbeque.....

Saturday night was the annual Pig Roast at the Dodge Memorial Center. As usual, the BB-Q was outstanding....thanks to the culinary skills of Russ Beckwith!

Here Jeanna Coolie and her "almost" son-in-law serve up some of the goodies....

Emma bonding with Kora Bazinet......
Here she is singing Karaoke....there isn't a "shy" bone in that kid's body!!
Proud new grandpa....Terry Muldoon and grandson Landon!!
Oh look....the photographer actually got in a picture....LOL

If you happen to be passing by....stop in for a Friday night "fish fry"......

Once again....thanks to my screwed up Internet going on and off while I am uploading pictures, my blog is not in order. Oh well, 2 more weeks and I will be on the mainland and back on my Verizon Internet!!!

This was supposed to be the last picture since it was the final course of the dinner....deep fried French toast. Everyone raved about how good it was....I refrained!

First course, the traditional deep fried "fatback" and onion sandwich..Oh yeah I skipped that too....

As always, Bruce and Elaine Brooks hosted one of the best parties of the summer. Elaine always has a "unique" theme to her gatherings, and this year she did a shore dinner.

Captain Clay Ferguson (fishing guide) did the cooking, with the help of Harry and Urch Slate.

Hmmmm, that's Salt in there...he must be giving advice!

62 guests gathered along the banks of the St. Lawrence River at the home of Dan and Janice McPhail.....
When there is a party on Grindstone, there is never an age limit. Here is my favorite little boy!! He will be heading home to TN on Sunday and I think we will all have "Greyon withdrawal"....

Dale McLaughlin and his son Aaron, deep in conversation......

3 of the host/hostesses....somehow Bruce escaped the picture. I will have to take my camera to the Pig Roast tonight and HUNT him down!! It appears Dan is praying....maybe that Janice will keep the speech short?????

Some times there are unanswered prayers Dan.....

Boy, I really wanna stay....and play that little game you play!

Seeing as I can't sleep, may as well post the Bunco night pictures....

Kellie Ennis is here for a week, with husband and soon to be "son"....

Jada's last night for Bunco....she and Greyson will be heading home (to TN) next Sunday. Where did the summer go? I guess it passes a LOT faster when you have lots of sunshine and warm temps!!

Lauren Ennis and Sarah Taylor..........

Karen...saying "DON'T take that picture"....uh oh...too late!
Frances wth her "boobie" prize.....

Lynn Taylor's grandson, Nicholas after rolling 12 straight points....

Brenda won the traveling prize and was SO exited when she found out it was a "Thigh Master"....NOT!!

And the grand finalee....Sarah...the biggest Loser.....

And so began my love affair with....water!

OK....now this is a totally messed up post. My stupid Internet still isn't working properly so I somehow have half of Greyson's birthday party, then my family's weekend visit and then the rest of Greyson's party.... I don't have time to rewrite the whole post so I am going to leave it the way it is....Welcome to my screwed up world!!

Now this is GOOD cake!

Ah, but this is much better......

Janna brought her boyfriend, Jake Sheley for his first visit to the river. We're going to let Janna keep him, since we know we can make a river rat out of him....no problem!

Janna, Jake and Matt....
Matthew takes his last jet ski ride of the season. This was a huge year for Matthew, as he was allowed to drive all the vehicles (jet ski, 4 wheeler and boat) all on his own!

Janna and Jake trying to steal some quiet time in the sun....they couldn't however get rid of their chaperone, Bentley!!

Challenging tube ride, as Joe was behind the boat wheel!!

After thew company left, I washed all the guest linens and packed them away for the season...hotel CLOSED.
Later in the afternoon we attended a "first" birthday party for Greyson Field (Stub and Karen's grandson). After a long fun day, he takes a break in Poppa's arms.

Every little boy's dream gift....TONKA

This is a beach chair...NOT a time out chair!

A little chocolate from Aunt Brenda....

I can do it myself... MOM.....

Grandma KiKi gave him a scoop of ice cream.....BRAIN FREEZE..

So many presents we can cancel Christmas....

You know that life is a contradiction and you got to face the fact...you gotta take a little bit of this and a little bit of that..

So a little bit of this and a little bit of that....that's exactly what this post will be. My Internet has not worked properly since the huge storm that took it out. After several visits from our provider, he finally laid a cable and hard wired us up temporarily....it was working well until SOMEONE ran over it with the lawn mower. Thus, I am going to try to figure out in some type of order what we have been doing over the last couple of weeks and get it documented.

In anticipation of her cousin's arrival, Emma baked her first cake all by herself (not a mix). It just happened to be Janna's favorite!

Stole this picture from Janna....She is with Evelyn, her older sister. God just didn't make any homely Karpel girls...

And here is another Karpel, my niece Chelsea in her Sr. picture. She and Janna both graduate from high school this year.

The Rossmassler families (the three brother's bought our large house) were for their annual summer visit with all the children. The following Bill, Wendy and their two children entertained three other families for a week. The weather was spectacular and they played their hearts out. They were also so kind in including Emma in their tubing time. Emma has gone from a complete scardey cat to a hellish daredevil all in the last year.

Betty has been working for us all summer, so it has given us the opportunity to spend lots of time with Emma (and save Betty babysitting monies). One of the perks has been listening to her practice the guitar. She looks like a little Janice Joplin here with her bell bottoms and bare feet....

Betty and I cleared a lot of debris out of the woods and now have a much better view of Mama and her twins when they come to eat my flowers......

Finally after 3 years we have steps coming up to the house (from the beach)

The last two weekends were Pirates Weekends at the Bay, so it was not uncommon to glance out the window and see tall ships flying their pirate flags.....
Finally one of my rocks are cleared of berry bushes and scrub wood....I now have my sunset swing in place.....
A perfect spot....
or sunrise if you are so inclined....since I am not, I stole this picture from a friend!

Some of the beautiful granite that has been hiding under years of berry bushes....

Betty and Salt hosing off the excess dirt.....

Emma's doll Emily got headgear for Emma's birthday.....now they will both have straight teeth...in FIVE years!

And last but not least....Congratulations to our good friends Terry and Sue Muldoon. They have another beautiful grandson! Welcome Landon!
