Time just keeps slipping away.....

I hate when I get this far behind on my blog....it's so difficult to remember everything that happened and what order....We have been so busy, one day just fades into the next.

After leaving Myrtle Beach.....

We headed for Florida.....boy do we LOVE these gas prices!!

We left the motor home parked in our new driveway for 3 days while we "moved into" the new place. There was (is) so much we wanted to do to make it our winter "home"...we started out by getting the landscaping done. Here Salt is putting in my Herb Garden. After that we put all the new flowering shrubs and flowers. It's so much fun planting Pansies, Petunias and Geraniums at the end of October!!

As soon as we got moved in we had 3 couples over for dinner.....Speidies, we brought from Binghamton. These are our neighbors behind us....Buck and Pearl Smith. Pearl is the park "organizer"....if there is work to be done, Pearl is there!!

Coming home from one of our many shopping trips, we spotted a church carnival....deciding I needed a night off from cooking, we grabbed our friends Dave and Diane and headed down for "Carnival Junk Food"....this might just be going a little too far!!! I didn't know you could make a "Snickers" more fattening than it already is! NO, I didn't indulge.....I did however eat part of a Funnel Cake.

Only Diane and I could find a place to gamble at a Baptist Carnival.....Hey we needed something to hold us until the 3rd week in November when we head to the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa.

Salt enjoying his "sin".

I love this small little town. They have so many of these little small town gatherings that always include all the kids....

Saturday we headed out to a couple of the Flea Markets. This one is HUGE! We didn't even get through the whole thing before they were closing up. I imagine we will end up there again this weekend since Salt spotted the sign for the antique tractor and engine show...

I knew we were home as soon as the flag was flying!!

Monday night was the annual "Taste of Lakes" party. This is when many of the local restaurants come in with their specialties. It was $10 per person for all you wanted to eat.
It was a great way to sample the different menus as well as catch up with many of our friends who were just arriving for the winter.
The couple below is Ron and Theresa Gross. I met Ron 2 years ago when I spotted his car in his driveway with a VT license plate. I brought my bike to a screeching halt to inquire what part of VT he was from.....to make a long story short, he worked at IBM Burlington (Essex Junction) and was good friends with my deceased husband Bill, as well as many of our other friends from Vt. Once again ....small world!!

This is the Olde Crow Restaurant....the one that got Salt's and my vote. They smoke all their meats right on the property and have the BEST Bar-B-Q as well as Peach Cobbler.
This was Lakeside Terrace who went with a Halloween Theme and delicious Pumpkin Soup!

Snippets from the Halloween party on Grindstone. Below is one of our favorite girls....Paige Durdon. Great outfit Paige....we miss you!

Here is Emma being so serious about her carving....

And I leave you with this picture I received from Betty this morning....and it was still snowing.
This is why we are in sunny Florida. Since it is only October, that sure makes for a very long winter!!
