And it's a great day to be alive...I know the sun still shines when I close my eyes.

I am officially OLD....free lifetime fishing license and Medicare. I am thankful for my health and energy....I may look 65 but I sure don't feel it!

Tonight was "Light Up Mt Dora"....fantastic decorations and more great entertainment.

A part of the Mr Dora ballet school.....

This Elvis impersonator was voted one of the top 5 impersonators by the Elvis Presley Foundation. He is dressed in an army uniform to honor Elvis time in the army, as the program was entitled "Heroes".....

Earlier in the day, Salt and some of our other friends went out on the boat to celebrate my birthday. What a perfect day to be on the water! The girls all got together and made a lunch and Susie made my favorite cake....Chocolate with peanut butter frosting.

I love this sign as we entered the Burrel Lock....I asked the lock master one time..."How do you molest an alligator"? He said it's very difficult....Bwahha

The entrance to the Burrel Canal....

There were all kinds of birds along the way.....I love these herons; it's hard sometimes to tell a statue and a live one.

Our new statue.....

Girls....they wanna have fun!

Those Christmas lights...light up the street; down where the sea and city meet.

The Christmas season has kicked off in Central Florida with great fanfare. Sue and I made a visit to one of our favorite boutiques....The Peddlers' Wagon. The Christmas merchandise is fabulous and the owners are top notch designers. I think you could walk through a dozen times and still not see everything.

This was the little girl picked to hit the lights in the "Light up Eustis" ceremony.

Bay Street Players youth group entertained prior to the lightening ceremony.

This is Lanie Ford, Terry and Sue's granddaughter (left). She is such a ham....I think we could see her on Broadway one day. It was so hard to get good pictures because of the outside lighting.

Walker Ford (left) singing "Dominic the Donkey".

One of the many things I LOVE about Florida.....entertainment on street corners and even in the alley.

After the street festivities we attended the Bay Street Theatre and their production of Sister Amnesia's Country Jubilee....Lots of laughs and good music!

This is our contribution to a wonderful meal put on by the Muldoons.
Salt getting some kind of instruction from Lanie....(I love this kid!!)

Terry carving the bird!!

Susie with the gravy....delicious and not a single lump!

YUMMMM....Everything was delicious!!

The faster I go, the behinder I get......

OK....I am SO far behind, this post is going to be totally out of order but I think I can capture a lot of our happenings in the past couple of months. I really need to get caught up before the cruise and the holidays, as I don't want to lose documenting all the coming activities.

Here is my birthday present....I wanted a back seat for the golf cart so when all the kids come we can have space for them when checking out the Christmas lights, going to the pool or clubhouse. The company wanted $100 to install it. I love having a handy husband who installed it....AND thank God he didn't try to talk me into one of those ugly homemade jobbers!!!

Here is our beautiful granddaughter Emma's school picture for 2011.

We attended the first play at the Bay Street theatre....Dracula! It was great as are all the plays. Tonight we will be attending "Nunsense Jamboree" aka Sister Amnesia's Country Jamboree....

This year the Warren Acting Company joined forces with Bay Street and put on Cinderella. Once again Terry and Sue's grandchildren entertained us with their amazing talent!!

On the right is Walker as a mouse.....

Joe and Rindy took a trip to Boulder, CO to visit with Joseph and Emily....I am wondering what Joe thought when he first glanced at the top of this mountain after Joseph told him they were going to climb it.....????? And yes, that's Joe climbing!!

And here he is at the top with Rindy

Joseph and Emily......loving the Colorado lifestyle!!

Matthew has chosen cross country as his sport and is excelling.

Salt and I flew out to Oregon to see Mike since he will not be able to make it home for the holidays. He is loving his life out there and has wonderful friends as well as the "best ever"

surrogate parents. Thank you SO much Roy and Deborah (Renzi) for making Mike a part of your family and for all the kindness you show him!! The tall good looking guy in the middle is Jason, Mike's best friend.

Janna who is in the nursing program at BCC is also playing college volleyball....she is now a BCC Hornet and had a great team this year, going all the way to the finals!

My nephew Ben, who hasn't made the blog in quite awhile.....getting so tall and HANDSOME!

My hairdresser and friend Jamie Bryant's first child, Autumn....

Oh and of course time for an update on my niece Alice.....sporting quite the sunburn from her vacation in the Carolinas.

Started my Christmas shopping very early this year. Wanted to have it done and wrapped before the cruise. We won't be returning until the 14th and Betty and Emma will be here the 22nd. We are SO excited about having them for Christmas this year!!!

Since Mike won't be home, we worked to get his "homemade goodies" made and sent to Oregon.

After visiting Mike in Oregon we flew to St Louis, Missouri for our nephew Dan's marriage to Sally. Beautiful wedding and good time!

Whoops, back to Oregon, I knew I would screw this post up.... Mike was working so Jason picked us up at the airport along with his girlfriend Jen and a boquet of flowers. Love all these kids!

Since Mike had to work most of the week, during the days, Salt and I went exploring. We loved Oregon and Sisters (a small town not far from Redmond) was one of our favorite haunts. The day we were there the big "trick or treat on Main Street" took place. There had to be between 250 and 300 kids dressed in the Halloween finest. So much fun to watch them!

Oh yes....and a lot of the mothers and fathers got into the spirit as well!!

We also checked out the new bazar in downtown Redmond, where Deborah displays and sells her fabulous fabric jewelry.

The beautiful Oregon mountains and skyline. We loved Oregon and both times we have been there our time was WAY too short. We are planning on taking a trip with the motor home, earlier in the fall so we can stay longer!

We purchased a pontoon boat a few weeks ago and are enjoying it to the fullest ....

This is my captain!!!

We have had quite a few dinner parties. This one included our friends Sue and Terry Muldoon as well as Doug and Darlene Rowe. We served spiedies as the main course, always a crowd pleaser, as they are little known in this area!

Salt has been into one project after another.....here he is laying the new patio.

Susie and I took her granddaughter Lanie, and attended the Christmas Open House at one of our favorite boutiques....Peddler's Wagon. They were having a car show in Eustis on the same day so we met the husbands over there and had some lunch.

We also got to see part of the concert at the park by the lake....we knew as soon as we saw this security guard (check out the plumbers' crack) there was something "big"coming soon.

Yep....ELVIS. I knew he was still alive!!

The club had a "Chili Cook-off" . It was a sold out event and was great fun. A one man show which turned out to be very entertaining!

Lots of great chili cooks....

And after all the taste testing we enjoyed a pulled pork dinner.....

We celebrated Terry's birthday at the home of his daughter and son-in-law. Coy smoked some tasty ribs and chicken wings. They have purchased a new lakefront home so after dinner we watched the grandkids tubing. This is Terry's gift from his kids. Check out the look of surprise. It's a tool Terry....it means you are not totally retired and you use it to WORK!!!

Here is Salt with another of his projects....laying sod in front of the house. He is not retired either and never will be as long as he stays married to me. As soon as he completes one project I come up with another. I don't think he really minds.

Emma has convinced me to get back to scrapbooking for her. I started but haven't been able to get much done with everything else going on. We are MUCH busier here than we were on the island so spare time is scarce.

Hazel and I attended the "Dog Days of Summer" party at the clubhouse. Somehow we missed the invitation to dress "crazy". We may have been the only normal ones there. OK>>>>so Hazel and I aren't normal anyway.

As you can tell from this picture. She asked me to color her hair and when I sat her she wanted to know where the clip to hold her towel on was....she says "you know like the have in the beauty shops"....so I fixed one for her.
