Won't take nothing but a memory...from the "House That Built Me"......

They say you can't go home again.....I guess it's a fact. We drove by the house I was raised in from 2 years until I left home at 18....The people who own it now have changed the color and made a lot of changes to the yard. So many memories in those 16 years.....

The visit to Owego was wonderful....totally unexpected, but it worked out so well. Salt has the motor home fixed and I was able to spend such quality time with my family and some of my high school friends. Paul made a trip home from Oneonta University for a few days. We had not seen him all last summer (the first summer in his life), as he made a trip to California. Had a lot of catching up to do with him. I love that all the kids still want to spend time with us and go out of their way to do so. I am truly blessed!!

We think Janna prayed for the storm so we would have to stay one more day and see her play volleyball. She is the captain of her team this year.....they played Oneonta and beat them three games in a row!!! Janna is in the middle, and the girl to her right is Paige Shaughnessy, who is Sharon Burleigh's granddaughter. Sharon went to school with my brother George and me.

And here is Sharon (in the purple). To the left of her is Arlene Wagner Howe, who I worked at the law office with....as well as raising a lot of hell. We had some fun reminiscing about those times. We have committed to have a lunch date when I stop in Owego next Spring.

And of course our mascot.....

The weather cleared up and we left Owego this morning. We stopped and did some shopping and are stopped for the evening in PA. We will probably drive as far as the Carolinas tomorrow and land in Myrtle Beach on Sunday.
