You think you know me but you haven't got a clue......

I was beginning to wonder if I was ever going to get back to the blog. It's not there isn't anything to blog, we have just been going from early morning to late night and by time we quit, I am just too tired to even consider the notion.

We left Owego and headed to Myrtle Beach, where we spent only one night. We were both just too anxious to get to Florida and get established before all our friends arrived and were ready to play... :).

We visited our favorite restaurant, Crabby Mike's . That is a semi-annual stop and we both love every bite. We leave all the common foods alone and get our fill of crab legs.
We parked almost on the beach and enjoyed a great night's sleep listening to the roar of the ocean.

After we arrived in Florida, we spent several days, just getting everything set up and the planting done, as well as stocking up on groceries. The flea markets and farmer's markets are in full swing and we have been grabbing most of our veggies at these.
Last weekend, Eustis held their 9th annual Folk Festival. We knew we were back in Florida when we saw this snack tent.

There were all kinds of groups who played throughout the park and the main street on both Saturday and Sunday. Lots of different foods and merchandise.

After we finished at the festival, we took the nature walk around the lake. So many beautiful birds out that evening.

I captured this "Snake Bird" drying his wings, just as the sun was setting.

Walking along the lake at sunset.....
Since we had the opportunity to grab a used golf cart at a great price, we snatched it up. Loving it. We are walking and riding our bikes as much as ever, but this is sure handy for taking the garbage or laundry down front...
One of the Sand Cranes across the street......

We finally got some new "boogie boards" and will be spending lots of time at the beach the next couple of weeks. The ocean temperature is 81.....wahoo!!
And here we are at the beach... New Smyrna The first day, Wally and Linda Medley and Pearl and Buck Smith went with us. What a great day!! So glad to be back on the ocean!
Linda and Buck taking a break.....

Here Linda and I are heading out to the waves with our boards......

The boys ducked into the shade for lunch, while the girls stayed out at a table in the SUN!
And here's the crew, minus Pearl who was taking over me as photographer. A bunch of drowned rats, for sure! It was a rough day....I lost my bathing suit, Wally broke his glasses and Salt got hit in the nose with his board. We loved every second of it!!!
And as tradition has it, we had to stop on the way home for some "Frozen Gold".....Can't believe my face looks so white....must have been the way the sun was shining. Sugar free, low fat Amaretto Almond....yummmm!

Thursday night we were invited to Buck and Pearl's for steak dinner. What a fun time and so many laughs!! There were about 16 of us there.... great food; great friends.

Donna brought her photo album from their summer trip to Alaska. I can't wait til we can go. Next year is Oregon, so maybe the following year...... ??

Wally after a long day at the eye doctor.....

Buck grilling the steaks......

A little news from the North. Janna and her new car her folks gave her for her 18th birthday!
Emma at her new gymnastics class.

Back to the beach on Friday....Waves were wicked (good)....we rode most of the day. Was a little sore this morning but it was worth every ache!!! Took today and paid bills, cleaned house and cooked enough meals for the week. Lots of time to play now!!
