I've got a rock and roll...I've got a rock and roll heart...

A bunch of us went to dinner at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in Eustis, and then attended the Friday night car "Cruise In" and entertainment in the park. Here we are all hanging on the street corner....just like high school, except no curfew!

I love the holidays in the small Florida towns. The street corners are always packed with free entertainment of some kind. Many times it's children performing which is always a treat!
The park (overlooking Lake Eustis)....all lit up for the holidays.

And then the last act of the night..."Elvis". He was very good and just about the age Elvis would be now....LOL.!

I tell you I Can't sleep because across the street...wo oh...I see the party lights!!

Well, maybe I saw Christmas lights, but any kind of lights warrants a party and good time for us. We took a break from our hauling, and lugging and joined the Medleys at Silver Springs for the Festival of Lights.

This was a ride we went on, thinking we would get wonderful pictures from above....duh. The ride was going so fast we got nothing but blur.

I want one of these peacocks in my front yard next Christmas.....Salt says "NOT".

Linda and me....telling Santa fibs about how "good" we have been!!
And of course, Salt didn't have to lie because he is so well behaved...(thanks to the rolling pin I carry).
Crazy Wally.....

There are 3 different glass bottom boat rides. We definitely put this on the list of things to do and places to go when the kids and Emma come next Christmas. Of course, the list is getting SO long, I think they may have to stay a long time.

These pictures were all taken from the glass bottom boat.
After the boat rides we walked the rest of the park. I have seen tons of giraffes over my lifetime, but I have never been up close enough to feed one. Don't much care if I ever do again. Whewww did these guys smell!!

Love the Florida wildlife....so different from what we are used to in the North.

These two guys are alive.....they are albino alligators!

We also attended Dick Milligan's 80th birthday party. Dick is a retired teacher, who keeps everyone in the park going with his handyman skills! Congratulations Dick!

Silent Night....Holy Night.....

This afternoon, we joined up with Terry Muldoon, Ed and Becky Landry and went to Mt Dora to watch Terry's grandchildren in their Christmas concert. They belong to the Warren Acting Company who just recently merged with the Bay Street Players. So many talented children, pouring their hearts into their performances. We try and attend everything they produce in the time we are here in Florida.

Here is Walker performing his duet...Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey.

This is Lanie to the right, doing her you better not pout stance....and I just loved the little girl in the candy cane costume.

One of the girls did a Rocking around the Christmas Tree solo while this cute little tree danced around her. What a hoot she was, she had the audience in stitches as she danced, puffed her cheeks out and just had a good time!

The entire cast takes a bow. Next week they will be performing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream coat. Can't wait!

Happy Holidays, Happy Holidays......

Light up beautiful Mt Dora..... Here is a part of the park.

The handsome wooden soldier and the snow princess...

Terry's grand kids were performing in front of one of the coffee shops, so we got a preview of the concert we will be attending tomorrow. Here is Walker.....and cute little Lanie in front of him. His son-in-law was also singing in the Methodist church group but since both groups were performing at the same time, of course the kids won our attention.

Walker singing his duet....Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey....he is so talented.

For $5 you could take a ride around the beautiful historic village.....
The marina in town was spectacular.....here are the candy cane palm trees.

The merry-g0-round with Teddy Bears.....

Santa is missing....I bet he was out enjoying the music!

This was my favorite building.....

Thank goodness we had dinner before we ventured downtown....this is my FAVORITE cupcake shop. If this isn't enough to tempt you.....

just walk inside!

Lions and Tigers and Bears....Oh My!!

Another Disney park today. We are so enjoying the annual passes along with the Medleys. Today we left early in the morning and headed for Animal Kingdom. Each park has a HUGE tree at the entrance, decorated by theme. This of course was laden with animals.....

And today's roller coaster was Mt Everest. This is the back of the ride.
And this is the actual ride most of which is in the dark of the mountain.

Salt and I never saw Nemo the Musical ....it is one of the main attractions and the lines are always SO long. Since it was the middle of the week and early in the morning, we were the first group to go in. It was FABULOUS!

All of the parts were played by humans....including the coral. I think if I ever decide to get a part time job, I would like to be a piece of coral at Disney......
OR....maybe a jellyfish.

And of course, all the entertainment along the streets. We kind of felt like we were back in the Bahamas.

The Lion King ....another live show that is so uplifting. Hakuna Matata .....mans now worries for the rest of your life!!!

On to the Safari...the amazing Mbuyu tree....looks as if it is growing upside down. The huge trunk stores water so the tree can live in the desert.

It was a warm day so most all of the animals were out sunning themselves.

Monkeys, Apes and Gorillas.....

Wally and Linda with their "happy hats".

Yours truly with my honey.....

And us again just to show the actual (almost) size of the tree.

Made a stop at Wilderness Lodge for a quick look at the decorations in the lobby.

And a quick trip into Magic Kingdom to see the decorations and the parade.

We stayed until dark so we could see the castle with the Christmas lights. Here it is in just the blue lights and then.....
as it changes color......BEAUTIFUL!
