Make new friends but keep the old....one is silver and the other gold

After being in the area for 3 years, we finally took a trip to The Villages http://www.thevillages.com/ . We met up with some friends from the island (Grindstone, NY),
the Smiths, Dave and Sue, and Joan Flint. What a great day ....weather beautiful and so much fun catching up with news from New York.

We drove down to one of the squares where they were holding a big craft fair. Salt and I got the biggest kick when we peered down the street and saw nothing but golf carts. That is the most popular form of transportation. Some of those carts run as much as $50,000.00. I can't even fathom that as I am still driving a 1995 jeep. We are buying a new car this month and Salt is very happy....I on the other hand am going to miss the jeep. I get attached to a vehicle and HATE parting with it.

The very crowded Craft Fair. We were just "lookers" came back empty handed....OK, so we did buy some fried apples and ice cream. Yep...just what I needed!!

We sat out in the square in the 80 degree weather and listened to this duet that was playing and singing. They were both good, but the girl particularly had great stage presence. She would come down and lead dances (electric slide) and get the audience participating.

Sue informed us that they had music in the square 365 days a year 4:00pm til 9:00. There is just SO much to do in this area.

We ended the afternoon with a cup of Starbucks, took Joan back to the house so she could grab her car and head for her mother's in Altoona. The rest of us hopped in the golf cart and headed to Beef O'Bradys for one of the best burgers I have ever had....and lots more good conversation and laughs. Thanks Dave and Sue for a great day!!
