We stopped several times along the way to hike some of the scenic trails. We loved this waterfall!

After hiking we decided to stop at the carriage house patio for lunch. This was my Cesar Salad (minus the 2 shrimp I shared with Salt)....food was great and the view from the patio spectacular!!

This was a special room designated for the seamstresses who would come and stay to make clothes for the "Mrs.". They had many, many formal affairs held at the castle.

This tray was behind glass, so it was difficult to get a picture without a glare.....It was magnificent....check below to see what it was made from....now that's rich!!!
There was a trout pond on the property, full of HUGE Rainbow trout. We went down to feed them, but they were SO quick it was impossible to get any good clear pictures. We did however capture a shot of this beautiful allard duck.
The following day we decided to take a ride up through the mountains to The Flume Gorge. We took the Kancamagus Highway (referred to by the natives as the Kanc) www.byways.org/explore/byways/2458/stories/47172 . The colors were unbelievable and was a perfect day for hiking!!
I just love the covered bridges!!!
