Do you ever question your life...Do you ever wonder why? Do you ever see in your dreams, All the castles in the sky...

So, here we are in New Hampshire....heading for the Castle in the Clouds http://www.castleintheclouds.org/ . We thought that this might be it, but found out as we traveled up the mountain that the castle was actually higher. We are wondering if this picture (below) is a summer home or if people actually live here in the winter. I can't imagine????? As we started up the mountain to the castle, Salt had to move this boulder out of the highway...LOL!

We stopped several times along the way to hike some of the scenic trails. We loved this waterfall!

After hiking we decided to stop at the carriage house patio for lunch. This was my Cesar Salad (minus the 2 shrimp I shared with Salt)....food was great and the view from the patio spectacular!!

The outside of the castle......
The craftsmanship was unbelievable.....loved the way this hardwood floor was laid....
This was a special room designated for the seamstresses who would come and stay to make clothes for the "Mrs.". They had many, many formal affairs held at the castle.

View of Lake Winnipesaukee from the balcony..... One of the guest bedrooms......

part of the kitchen.....
This tray was behind glass, so it was difficult to get a picture without a glare.....It was magnificent....check below to see what it was made from....now that's rich!!!

living room....
There was a trout pond on the property, full of HUGE Rainbow trout. We went down to feed them, but they were SO quick it was impossible to get any good clear pictures. We did however capture a shot of this beautiful allard duck.

The following day we decided to take a ride up through the mountains to The Flume Gorge. We took the Kancamagus Highway (referred to by the natives as the Kanc) www.byways.org/explore/byways/2458/stories/47172 . The colors were unbelievable and was a perfect day for hiking!!
I just love the covered bridges!!!

Our last stop the gorge....Had Salt take a picture with the stuffed moose in case we miss a real one!!!!!
