By the time we got to Woodstock......

After our balloon ride, Salt and I came back to the motor home for a quick lunch before we headed out to Woodstock. According to the AAA book, it is the prettiest town in the USA. It certainly is filled with charm.

All of the stores are very quaint, and nicely decorated. This was a darling bookstore!

From a distance we thought these were real kids (and dog) sitting on the veranda of this children's clothing store. The clothes were adorable, but I really didn't think buying Emma a shirt with a name like "poop" was not appropriate!! Those of you who know Emma, know why!!
I loved the window and flowers in front of this unique boutique.....

The town has many spectacular galleries, housed in buildings like this one.

This had to be my favorite store....it was a general store with everything from soup to nuts...literally! I loved the cat who made himself very comfortable on this Fall display!

After a cup of coffee and a walk around the village, we headed back to Quechee and the VIN (Vermont Institute of Natural Science). This is primarily a rehab center for injured birds as well as an environmental education facility. While we were there we were able to take in an educational show.
Have you ever wanted to "fly like an eagle?

Some of the birds we were able to see.....

This little screech owl had only one eye, so will not be released back into the wild.
Nor will this red tailed hawk who broke a wing during his first year of life. He is now 14 years.

And my very favorite.....the Bald Eagle!!
