Hear them all cheering...Now they are nearing....There's going to be a wonderful parade!!

I guess this post will be about my (our) love of living in a small town. I know so many people think "Florida" and think, Miami, Orlando or some of the other BIG towns. We chose this town because it is small and very family oriented. Salt and I try to participate in, and support as many of the town events and activities as we can.

Last Saturday was the annual Christmas parade. Our resort always puts a small float in the parade, and this year in keeping with the theme "A Beary Merry Christmas" we had a Goldilocks and the Three Bears theme. Salt and I were asked to be two of the bears...I was Mama Bear and Salt was Baby Bear. What fun!!!!!

Here we are getting ready to board the float.

Here was our Panda and Polar bear carrying the banner......

And the whole crew......

Mama Bear in her rocking chair....

I am not sure who had more fun....the kids all running for the candy or Salt throwing it????

Terry had his camera so actually got some while we were traveling......

I think we made a lot of local kids happy.....We had FOUR (4) boxes of candy to throw......

Here is a dad and his daughter....the little girl was dressed as a black bear and was so darn cute!!

Karl, who owns the park has all kinds of military equipment which he has refurbished and puts in all the local parades.....(he served in Viet Nam, as did many of the residents of our park).

Here are a couple of guys from our park........

These are the "Buffalo Soldiers".....I heard they were terrific, but being in the parade, we missed all the entertainment. These guys won first place (the President's award) and Tah Dah.....we won second.

Here is Emma in her new Christmas dress Pop sent to her. Looking at her hair, I assume she just got out of the shower. She promised to send a picture with her new shoes on and her hair done, when she wears it on Thanksgiving.

And here she is yesterday with her new "appliance".....according to the orthodontist, guaranteed to make her stop sucking her thumb. Poor little dickens, she trys so hard and sometime during the middle of the night it just "sneaks in" according to Emma. Another step toward that $$$$$ smile.
Saturday night a group of us went to see A Tuna Christmas. It was a very funny play...IF you like dry humor, and of course, I LOVE it.

Check out this cool drugstore. It is right across the street from us and I had never been in it. I will definitely try to give them some of our business. It is a family business and is just SO neat.

A lot of the antiques have been brought in and donated by customers.

Check out the cool sitting area, jukebox and working coke machine.......
