Now I'll sing it to you....so we all can do...that old San Antonio Stroll....

Here we are in San Antonio, TX. Salt and I visited the city three years ago, but we were rushing to get to California to spend Christmas with our son and his family.....consequently, we missed much of the many interesting and beautiful sights.

Being here at Christmas is a dream come true....The decorations are amazing. .... especially the hotels.

This is the needle which was erected for the 1968 World Fair, and houses a revolving restaurant . The camera couldn't do it justice, but it was all red and green lights.

And here is one of the tour boats coming down the river along the river walk. The lights on the river walk were beautiful......

On the weekends, they light the entire walk with luminaries (candles set in sand inside of white bags).

This statue of St Antonio (St. Anthony) adorns the sidewalk along the river. The river was named for St Antonio, who was known as the patron of little children and lost items. I chuckled, when the guide told us this, as when we were kids in Catholic school, they taught us the prayer...."Dear St. Anthony, please come around....something is lost and it must be found". I still say it to this day....it works!!!

We were looking for a "light" supper....we were recommended this German Deli. The prices were so reasonable and the chow delicious. Homemade Split Pea Soup and Bratwurst....yum.
Another one of the hotel decorations.......
